NGV Fight Club Results: Repeal and Replace: Will It Happen?
Just about two weeks into the Trump Administration and there has already been enough chaos to last us until the end of the year. Several executive orders were signed, hostile confirmation hearings for the cabinet nominees continued, and a confusing halt to refugees from seven countries. Protests erupted in airports and cities, standing up for the people being detained from entering, and the refugees temporarily being denied entry. Democrats have continued to lead a bitter fight against the administration, demanding clarification on the refugee vetting process, while stating that they will vigorously oppose the Supreme Court nominee, Neil Gorsuch. As always, feel free to post questions for future debate topics on our Facebook page!
This week’s question asked our dedicated users to share their opinion on whether the Affordable Care Act would be successfully repealed and replaced. The winner this week, benjy99, presented a well-crafted opinion that outlined his confidence in the Trump Administration and Congress to fulfill their promise.
benjy99 says:
“I believe that Trump and Congress will repeal the Affordable Care Act (ACA). From Donald Trump’s own website “[we] will broaden healthcare access, make healthcare more affordable and improve the quality of the care available to all Americans.” Trump made the ACA, along with immigration, a primary issue during his campaign and I have little doubt he will repeal AND replace the ACA and replace it.”
